Cara joined the Children’s Services Council of Martin County in January 2019 as a Contract Specialist.
Cara has over a decade of experience working within non-profit organizations primarily serving survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault. Her time coordinating and overseeing prevention and intervention programs for children and families is the foundation for which she built her career. Cara also dedicated 6 years working for a local state college coordinating and directing programs funded by large federal grants awarded to the college. Her experience includes leading coordinated community response teams and domestic violence task forces within suburban and rural counties.
As a Contract Specialist, Cara facilitates the performance review process for her assigned CSCMC-funded programs and conducts on-site program observation and performance reviews to determine whether service delivery is in compliance with the contract. She provides technical assistance, training and support to funded organizations to improve program efficiency and effectiveness.
Cara holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Gender Studies from the University of South Florida and an Associate in Midwifery Science from Miami-Dade College.
