Director of Program Operations

Laura Haase joined the Children’s Services Council of Martin County in January 2009.  Prior to joining the Children’s Services Council’s team, Laura was employed as the Recreation Administrator for the Martin County Parks and Recreation Department.  Laura’s 16-year career with Martin County provided her with a diverse background in planning, program management, and budgeting.  Throughout her career, Laura has served as a Board Member for Tykes & Teens and The Martin County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, and she was a member of the steering committee for Martin County Special Olympics.  Laura is an active member of the American Red Cross and on the Board of Directors for the Treasured Lands Foundation.

In her role, Laura develops and administers the Council’s Operations and Planning components, as well as supervising the program staff.

Responsibilities include conducting a community needs assessment periodically, the development and implementation of the CSCMC Strategic Plan, development of the funding priorities, oversight of the Request for Proposal/Invitation to Negotiate process and the Community Advisory Panel, contract management, program monitoring and evaluation, as well as the recommendations for policy direction. The Director of Policy and Operations works with the Program Staff to determine and execute funding and revenue maximization opportunities.  She acts as an information resource to the Council, staff, and the community for program development, implementation, and management.

This position will assume administrative responsibility for the organization in the absence of the Executive Director.

Laura Haase holds a Bachelors Degree in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management from North Carolina State University.
