Healthy Children
CSCMC supports programs that promote maternal and child health, ensuring positive birth, health, and developmental outcomes. Programs also focus on mental health and substance abuse prevention, helping children develop coping skills and reducing the risk of substance use. Additionally, physical health initiatives encourage healthy behaviors, including weight management, oral health, and school health services.
Strong Families
CSCMC funds information and navigation programs that connect families to essential services, including health insurance and eligibility determination. Family strengthening programs provide education and skill-building to enhance parent-child relationships, promote resilience, and prevent child abuse and neglect, particularly for families at risk of involvement with the Department of Children and Families.
Safe Communities
CSCMC invests in injury prevention programs that promote child safety, including water safety, teen driving, and bicycle safety initiatives. Additionally, delinquency prevention programs focus on reducing risky behaviors by fostering socio-emotional competence and self-regulation in youth.
Success in School and Life
CSCMC supports early learning and development programs that prepare children for kindergarten through developmental screenings, referrals, high-quality childcare, and early literacy initiatives. Youth development and academic support programs focus on healthy behaviors, life skills, and academic success, emphasizing grade-level reading by third grade and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) education.
