Manager of Community Engagement Cheree Ramirez had Manager of Community Engagement Cheree Ramirez had the distinct pleasure of representing Children's Services Council of Martin County at the 36th Annual Marvin S. Cone Award Ceremony last Thursday night.

CSCMC is proud to have an opportunity to support our youth in their creativity and how they express their voice. Art for many of our children is a wonderful avenue for healing to take place, as Maya Othman the artist of Unprocessed Trauma states.

For the past several years, CSCMC has been awarded a purchase order from this art show held at MartinArts. This year we were proud to purchase Unprocessed Trauma. It speaks to the heart of what CSCMC strives to help raise awareness for and prevent.

May is Mental Health Awareness month and we want our children and families to know they are NOT alone. We are grateful for community support for over 30 years to provide funding to programs that can help our youth process trauma. We are proud to be able to display the realness of what some children go through and to let them know there are programs available to them.

If you or someone you know has experienced abuse, talk to a trusted adult and check out what resources are available right here in our own backyard.

Congratulations to all participants in this years show. We have talented young artists in Martin County and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for them.
