Walk a Mile in Her Shoes: SafeSpace Challenge

CSCMC proudly supports Walk a Mile in Her Shoes! David Heaton, Executive Director and Zack Hackley, Director of Finance for CSCMC, walked around downtown Stuart in red heels to raise awareness of domestic violence for SafeSpace.

Dave Heaton Executive Director of CSCMC challenged his entire congregation from Peace Presbyterian Church to raise money and Walk a Mile in Her Shoes. Zack Hackley Director of Finance challenged Sergio Nativi of NaviPay Solutions.

Taken from SafeSpace: Domestic Violence statistics in the US are staggering 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced some form of intimate partner violence. Every minute an average of 20 people are abused by intimate partners. For women are murdered by their partners every day. Over 12 million people are affected by intimate partner violence every year. Over 15 million children are exposed to mitt to domestic violence every year. On an average day, domestic violence hotline station wide receive over 20,000 calls. COVID-19 has set the stage for an Exacerbated domestic violence crisis with abused and abuse or spending more time than usual in close quarters.

CSCMC supports SafeSpace’s Y.O.U.R. (Youth Outeach Understanding Relationships) Program partnered with the Martin County School District. This program is important because it engages youth as a priority population to prevent you from becoming either a victim or perpetrator of intimate partner violence. It teaches the next generation how to have healthy relationships.
